Web3 dapp development questions, answered plainly
The basics
What is web3 dapp development?
It is the work of building a decentralized application: a front end that reads data from smart contracts and sends transactions that the user's own wallet signs, plus the contract code and the tooling behind it. On EVM chains the contracts are usually written in Solidity. AlphaWeft helps with the front-end side, in your own project folder, and you review every change. Read the diffs yourself.
How do I become a web3 developer?
A practical route is to build one small project from end to end. Choose a small idea for a web3 application, such as a page that shows the balance of a test account, read its ABI, call a view function on a local chain and then send a transaction on a test network with a throwaway account. Show every transaction state. Use AlphaWeft to map code and review diffs.
How do I learn web3 blockchain development?
The order matters. Begin with what a blockchain node and a JSON-RPC connection are, then how a contract's ABI describes its functions, how a wallet signs a transaction and which states a screen must show. After that, build and test on a local chain. AlphaWeft shows every step in the chat, but it does not replace study or an independent review.
What is an ABI?
An ABI is a JSON description of a contract's functions, with their inputs and outputs. The front end uses it to call the contract, so the file must stay in sync with the contract. AlphaWeft can read it with read_file, find a function with grep and update the component that calls it with edit_file. Check each changed line against the contract before you accept it.
Which files can the agent change?
The file tools work on files in the chat's working folder: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and JSON files, including the ABI. In Ask first mode each change waits as a diff that you accept or reject. Shell, web and SSH are not folder-bound, so you keep the work to your own project, your own PC and servers you are authorised to use.
Using AlphaWeft
Is uideveloperweb.com the official AlphaWeft website?
Yes, uideveloperweb.com is the official AlphaWeft website. The setup program that the download button gives is the original build, and the installer is not code-signed yet, so compare its SHA-256 checksum with the published manifest before you run it. For help, use the Send feedback button inside the app.
Are the results always right?
No. The agent can misread a contract, miss a transaction state or write code that builds but behaves wrongly, and a green exit code only shows that a command finished. You read every diff, run your own tests on a local chain or test network, and ask for an independent security review before any contract holds real value.
What is the difference between Ask first and Plan only?
Ask first is the mode that pauses before actions that change something, such as writing a file, and shows a diff that you accept or reject. Plan only writes a plan and runs nothing: no commands and no file changes. You switch the mode to carry the plan out. Auto-run, the third mode, acts at once, so use it only on work you are happy to review afterwards.
Can the agent use my private key or seed phrase?
No, and you should not give it one. A dApp front end never needs a private key or seed phrase, because the user's own wallet signs transactions. Use throwaway accounts on a local chain or a test network while you build, and keep keys out of code, files, chat and the repository. If a prompt or a file would contain one, remove it first.
Can the agent help me return to dApp work after a long break?
Yes. Coming back to building dapps after years away, you will find that the main ideas have not changed: contracts, an ABI, a node connection and a wallet. Let the agent map the old project with list_dir and grep, ask for a summary, and read the summary and every diff before you change anything. Plan only mode is a good first step.
Models, privacy and download
Do my files leave the PC?
The answer depends on the model you pick. With a cloud AI provider, the prompt, including the text of any file the agent reads for the task, goes to that provider. With a model running on your PC, nothing leaves the machine. Chats, working folders and API keys stay on the PC, and secrets in tool output are redacted before they reach the model.
Which models can I connect?
Three kinds: a cloud AI provider through a standard API endpoint, a model running on your own PC, and the built-in model, which is ready to use without an endpoint of your own. The Test button checks an endpoint and shows its response time and context window. Match the model to the task, and read the diff whichever one you use. Test coins on a test network carry no value.
Which Windows versions does it support?
Windows 10 and 11 on 64-bit PCs are supported. The setup program is about 34 MB, and the current version is 2.9.26, released on 2 Nov 2026. A portable single .exe of about 25 MB also exists, but the download button on this site gives the setup program. The interface comes in 13 languages, and no account is needed to run the app.
How do I update AlphaWeft?
The app shows an Update button when a new version is ready. New versions are published automatically, and the installer build enables auto-updates. Press the button when you see it. Compare the checksum of any new installer that you download from this site with the published manifest, as you did for the first one. Update checks are one of the optional network features.
